what a brilliant way to wear the immortal words of Charles Schultz.

tsaritsa

she glided down regent street with two bundled toddlers in tow. her coat sweeping across the slushy sidewalk was a sight to behold. savvy caught her as she breezed past oasis, and we quickly established a language barrier. unfortunately savvy doesn't speak russian. through the international sign of wrapping a right hand around an imaginary camera, and making a 'snap' sound while pushing an imaginary button with the pointer finger, savvy managed to communicate our desire to capture her elegance. while savvy dug for the camera, the children pressed their faces against the shop window, and savvy imagined a stoic pose from their subject, straight, true and serious. when we looked up and saw her magnetic smile, and arms playfully outstretched-- "snap." the end. while it was somewhat unexpected, her spontaneous gesture reflected the most precious grace of all-that of being yourself.

these two lovely korean art students were cheerfully bopped along the underground between projects and chelsea college locales. sweet.

these crazy boys were just beginning their night when we crossed paths (on savvy's way home). even shoreditch probably wasn't prepared for this troupe of midnight maniacs.

the "cut machine" as he's known in certain circles, aka matty of the band fields, sporting his new hair, glam belt, and his typically cheery antics.

these lovely gentlemen were 'smokin' in the figurative sense. smooth. cool. the waistcoat is a hidden treat, and the cuffed jeans and just seeing the bare ankles and white sneaks put a spring in our step. they work at Paul Smith. 'aaaaah,' savvy responded. but of course....

caught on the exhale

fantastic jacket-thick, warm, military-style; beautiful, lovingly well-worn marc jacobs sneaks; and savvy's first pair of dropped crotch pants/trousers. normally we don't have a penchant for this, but our subject wears these well, very well indeed.

sartorialist update

we are happy to announce that perhaps the most inspired fashion blog on the net, nyc's the sartorialist has revamped his blog. he has written a full biography, noting his early career as a tutu master in indiana among other fascinating details, has added the SartoriaList and will publish a Shopping Guide in April to aid us in our sartorial ways. details for London will be added in the near future.

night at the museum

this fanastic dresser kindly obliged to let us take his photograph during a late-night evening at the national gallery. we had to wander to find a halfway decent place where we were allowed to photograph him. we later find out he's a photographer himself. we were infinitely humbled when we looked at his website.

happy holidays

happy holidays from everyone at savvy. we're on a quasi-hiatus. things are slow and in many ways we're wearing blinders. if we'd seen anything incredible we would have shared it with you, trust us. more soon, until then, we hope everyone is enjoying some much deserved end-of-year rest.

we happened to have a particular obsession with the shoes, and the socks/plus fours combo. the shoes were a subject for debate all night: 'medieval?,' 'scandinavian?' 'feminine?'......well we liked them whatever they happen to be inspired by.

we told you ms. o would be back. she defies the gloom of london winter with a playful burst of sunshine, faux feather hat, and a playful rainbow of ribbons which she added to the skirt. the tights are red, with a pair of purple fishnets layered on top, hence the iridescent glow.

elegance of composure

this lovely woman captivated us on the tube. she read a newspaper with perfect delight, smiling gently to herself and seeming pleasantly amused by the world. her silver hair is coiffed perfectly down the middle, is evenly high on both sides, swept back elegantly. the silver accent of her jewelry and the pink highlight her already stunning cheekbones and pleasant visage. she apologised for her puffy down jacket, which she admitted had not lasted as long as she had hoped. to which savvy tut tutted her for modesty, as the sweetness of her face and sleek movement radiated a long-lost elegance. one of our favorites.
